Elaine Arsenault, DVM
Dr. Arsenault worked for Lafayette in a relief capacity before joining us on a permanent basis as an Associate Veterinarian in 2012. She continued her education at the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, where she earned her DVM degree in 1982.
Dr. Arsenault has 20 plus years of diverse veterinary experience, having worked in a variety of practices, ranging from small animal to emergency care hospitals. Her favorite part of practicing veterinary medicine is the variety. She thoroughly enjoys meeting new patients and clients, as well as seeing patients she has seen time and time again. Dr. Arsenault also enjoys being kept on her toes, and always rises to the occasion no matter what is placed in front of her.
She lives here in NH with her cat Leon. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, hiking, and also spending time with Leon.

Kathy is the office manager at Lafayette Animal Hospital, and has been since the practice opened its doors in 1994. With over 25 years of veterinary assistance experience, she uses her education certification to lead a caring, cheerful, and well-educated staff. Though her title is the office manager, she wears many hats here at the clinic. You will see her at the reception area, even in an exam room or the surgical suite, more than you will see her behind her own desk. She truly enjoys being involved in all aspects of our hospital.
Kathy enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. as well as her Boston Terrier named Mabel. She also owns three Morgan horses, one of which she won a world championship at the Morgan Grand National Horse Show in Oklahoma City in 2014. She enjoys being outdoors at her and her husband’s camp, at the horse shows, or just taking the dog for a walk on the beach. You may also see her with her sisters at the local art and craft venues, promoting her primitive painting collection. She looks forward to seeing you and meeting your pet at Lafayette Animal Hospital.
Sam graduated from Great Bay Community College in 2014, where she received her associate degree in Applied Science. Shortly thereafter, she passed the challenging Veterinary Technician Exam to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. Sam originally came to us as an intern during her schooling, and then was invited to join our full time staff in May of 2014. Sam has a well-rounded approach to her veterinary technician work because of her kind, and hard-working personality. She is always willing to learn or try something new. Since she has started, she has developed into a skilled veterinary technician, who excels not only in the surgical suite, but also in the exam room.
Sam has two cats of her own, Zayla and Bailey and a French Bulldog named Severus. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, and doing outdoor activities such as hiking or kayaking, running and playing with Severus. In November of 2015, Sam completed her first half marathon! Make sure to check back in on her when you visit our clinic to see what she will accomplish next.
Dylan has been working here with us since the summer of 2012. At that time, he was still in high school, and was a very active and successful, member of the FFA, through an Animal and Plant Science Course that he took during his junior and senior years of high school. He started off with us as a kennel attendant, and right away we noticed not only his strong passion for animals, but he did extremely well with all of our nervous and/or aggressive patients. Dylan worked his way up the ladder here, and now is one of our knowledgeable veterinary assistants.
Dylan has a total of four dogs of his own. In his free time, you’ll find him training his dogs, as well as working as an apprentice under a canine behaviorist, who specializes in the rehabilitation of aggressive and problematic dogs.
Megan has been an employee of Lafayette Animal Hospital on and off since her high school career. In 2011, she graduated from Colby-Sawyer College with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Education. Upon graduating college, she started working full time at another area animal hospital as a receptionist. In 2015, she joined our team again in a relief capacity, and in 2016, she joined us as a full-time employee. You will see her at the front desk, in an exam room holding animals for procedures, or she may ask if your pet can pose for a photo to be posted on our Facebook page. Her expansive knowledge in the veterinary field makes her a wonderful addition to our team.
She has recently taken on specializing in our Laser Therapy, and enjoys educating our clients about how Laser Therapy can benefit their pet(s). In her spare time, Megan enjoys spending time with her husband, their two Boston Terriers, Ruby and Tilly, and their cat Toby, as well as sewing, and riding horses at a local barn.
Krista started with us in 2012, during which, she was studying Animal Science at the University of New Hampshire’s Thompson School of Applied Science. In 2014, she left our clinic to attend a pet grooming school as well as to apprentice with a canine behaviorist and trainer. After a year full of gaining priceless canine related knowledge, she returned to us in early 2015. At the clinic, she enjoys helping out at the front desk, assisting our doctors and technicians, and most of all spending time caring for and getting to know our patients and their owners.
Krista has a high energy American Brittany named Remmy. When she isn’t here working, she enjoys spending time with her fiance, friends and family, as well as taking Remmy on new outdoor adventures.
Whitney started her career with us in February 2017. Her interest in a future with animals sparked when she was 6 years old. She had found and cared for a stray cat, whom she inevitably adopted and kept him as her own. She has worked with everything from horses to exotics, as well as cats and dogs. Most recently, she had worked as a dog daycare attendant for 1.5 years.
Whitney graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2017 with a degree in Biomedical Sciences, specializing in Medical Veterinary Sciences. Through her time at UNH, she also became bath and brush certified for pet grooming. Her next goal is to complete Veterinarian Technician classes to become a Certified Veterinary Technician.
She enjoys spending time with her dog, Josie, as well as, drawing, painting, and knitting in her free time. Whitney has a very easy going and positive personality, and enjoys making connections with both our patients and their owners alike.
Jessica’s love for animals began at a very young age. Her family has always owned farm animals, and she always enjoyed giving carriage rides and working with draft horses. As a young girl she was involved with 4H and the FFA at Coe-Brown Academy in Northwood, NH. Before joining us, Jess had been a veterinary technician assistant in Northwood for 10 years. In her free time, she loves horseback riding, running and hiking with her Pitbull, Tyson, and her Chihuahua, Abby.
Sydney joined our team in late 2018. She had been working at a local doggy daycare at the time, and jumped on the opportunity to work at a veterinary clinic. Sydney has loved animals all her life, and begged her parents for a dog every single holiday season. She never lost sight of that love for animals, and worked her way up in the professional world to being able to gain enough animal knowledge to work at an animal hospital, as she has always wanted to be in the veterinary field.
She has three dogs of her own, Dozer (Daschund mix), Champ (Beagle mix), and JD (German Shepherd). In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her husband and their dogs. You will often times find her taking JD on walks and working on his training.
Donna and her husband have been entrusting the staff and doctors at Lafayette Animal Hospital with their beloved pets’ care since our second month in business in 1994! After working as a receptionist in the human medical care industry for 30 years, she made the decision to retire. Donna started working with us in a relief capacity in 2017, but ended up loving it so much that she has stayed on with us part-time.
She is a wonderful addition to our LAH family, even though she has been a huge part of the practice for over 20 years! In her off time, she enjoys spending time with her family, and her two Border Collies, Finnigan and River. Donna also competes (very successfully might we add) with Finn and River in agility trials. Feel free to check in with her the next time that you are in the office to see what accomplishes with her pups next!
Joe is our resident animal hospital cat. He has been with us since March of 2015. He was an “owner surrender”, who made himself right at home here. Our staff instantly fell in love with him, and quickly asked if we could keep him… who could say no to that face?
Joe spends his days playing with Kathy’s Boston Terrier, overseeing medical procedures from a safe distance, walking across keyboards as our staff tries to get some work done, and above all else, lounging in his favorite, quirky spots. Our staff truly spoils him with love, and attention, and in return he makes us all laugh, especially on days that we need an emotional pick me up.
