BOOK APPOINTMENTWe take a practical approach to the concept of wellness.
We believe that wellness programs should address all areas of life for your animal companion. Wellness care at Lafayette Animal Hospital includes but is not limited to:
- Regular veterinary exams
- Oral and dental care
- Vaccinations
- Parasite Prevention
- Regular hygiene needs: nail trims, anal gland expression, hygiene clips, baths, de-matting, and more.
- Lepto
- Yearly bloodwork including fecal
- 4dx cats should have annual bloodwork.
Vaccinations
Vaccines are designed to prevent diseases and are given at wellness visits. We will create a reasonable vaccination schedule that meets you and your pet’s needs while abiding by state rules and regulations.
Adult Canine Vaccinations
We recommend the following for dogs 1 year of age and older.
- Annual Physical Examination
- Rabies Vaccine: 3 year OR annual booster, dependent on eligibility.
- Distemper-Parvo Combination Vaccine: Annual booster.
- Lyme Vaccine: Annual booster.
- Kennel Cough Vaccine: Annual booster.
- 4DX Test: Annual blood test.
- Fecal Test: Annual parasite test.
Treatments for flea, tick, and heartworm preventative are critical when taking steps to keep your pet as healthy as possible. Just ask our staff about the many options we provide for the prevention of many different parasite infestations that can affect your dog. Our staff will be able to help you decide which preventative works best for you and your pet.
Adult Feline Vaccinations
We recommend the following for cats 1 year of age and older.
- Annual Physical Examination
- Rabies Vaccine: 3 year OR annual booster, dependent on eligibility.
- Feline Distemper Vaccine: Annual booster.
- Feline Leukemia Vaccine: Annual booster.
- Fecal Test: Annual parasite test.
- Dewormer: Annual OR as needed treatment, mostly for outdoor cats, or even cats that like to “hunt” indoors.
